Another Homeschooling Year Gone By: Great Gift Idea for Kids

I made these Candy Bar Posters for my kids at the end of the school year when they finished their homeschool lessons.  It was an easy, fun gift idea that they loved.

This is actually from last year....

It feels like I just gave them these homemade posters last week, not last year!!

I was so excited to present these simple-tokens-of-love-for-all-their-hard-work posters to them.

I could hardly wait as I made them in my room with the door locked and hid them in my closet until I officially announced the last day of school.

I feel like time went by so fast and I am afraid that I am missing out.

How can that be???

I am with my family everyday. We eat dinner together every night.  We have our Bible time before bed.  We do school and errands and chores and activities and yet I still feel like I am missing out on something.

I think maybe I am missing my once little babies, who were the sweetest babies in the world (to me, of course).  Maybe, I am missing those little toddlers who followed me around EVERYWHERE calling "mommy look at me".  Maybe, I miss my elementary age kids who were starting to show signs of growing up but were still small enough to be considered "little kids". Now I have two teenagers and one who will be next year.

I blinked my eyes and my once small, little, sweet babies have grown up into three maturing young adults.  If I blink again, they will soon be in their twenties and I will be looking back on the teen years wondering where my little-big kids have gone.

God must see us that way.  He knew us even before we were born.  He knows the hairs on our head.  He loves His children.

I still get hugs and kisses from my big-kids and they still tell me they love me.  They ask for help when they need it and remind me to have our Bible time if it is getting late and we haven't done it yet.

I am learning to cherish each stage of their lives and to be present, both physically and emotionally, so I don't miss a moment!!

Matthew 10:30
And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Jeremiah 1:5
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.

  1. If you were my teacher, I would have been an apt pupil.

  2. I hope this is a unique idea for presenting a gift to the kids. But I have little controversy on looking how to present this as a gift?
