Talking to a hairdresser can be like speaking a different language and any misunderstanding can end up in a really bad haircut.  I pulled out my phone and went to my Pinterest board full of hair styles.  I pointed and grunted and she said "I got this".  So, I sat down~and with full trust she cut and snipped and sheared away.

There are so many things worse in life than getting a haircut. That is what I tell myself anyway.  I am a pony tail girl!  Fast and simple! So, it is out of my comfort zone to get my hair done.  I told myself that I am going to improve in this area and make the effort to get a "real" haircut...not a Supercut haircut, but a real salon where you need an appointment and they offer you a water bottle while you wait type of salon.

Leaving the salon and grabbing some lunch with my kids at Chick-Fil-A.

It's been over a year since my last haircut.
I don't know why I dread it so much??
It's really only the anticipation of it, because once I finally do it, I feel so much better.

1 Peter 3:3-6

Don’t depend on things like fancy hairdos or gold jewelry or expensive clothes to make you look beautiful.  Be beautiful in your heart by being gentle and quiet. This kind of beauty will last, and God considers it very special. Long ago those women who worshiped God and put their hope in him made themselves beautiful by putting their husbands first. For example, Sarah obeyed Abraham and called him her master. You are her true children, if you do right and don’t let anything frighten you.

Small disclaimer: I am not a hater of Supercuts.  I will gladly patron there as needed for the family.

  1. Looks super cute! So glad you survived the salon! :) I love the verse you chose too.

  2. Thank you!
This part of the verse really speaks to me~ Be beautiful in your heart by being gentle and quiet.
